GOVERNOR O'MALLEY STATEMENT ON CENTER FOR AMERICAN PROGRESS REPORT: THE STATE OF WOMEN IN AMERICA

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Martin O’Malley released the following statement on The Center for American Progress’ report released today entitled: The State of Women In America:

“In Maryland, we understand that our diversity is our greatest strength and the accomplishments of women are an integral part of our progress as a people.

“Today, Lt. Governor Anthony G. Brown and I were thrilled to learn that the Center for American Progress (CAP) released a report naming Maryland as the best place in the nation for women. CAP said that ‘on matters of economics, leadership, and health, women, on average, fare the best in Maryland.’

“We’re continuing to focus everyday on strengthening Maryland’s middle class by investing in education, innovation, and infrastructure. Working together, we have made great strides in making Maryland a great place for women to live, lead, and learn -- we know we can continue to achieve even better results by continuing to make better choices.”
