Ocean City Fire Boat To The Rescue
A large commercial fishing vessel caught on fire around 14th street in Ocean City. The Coast Guard and the Ocean City Fire Department did an incredible job rescuing the seven people on board and ultimately putting out the fire.
Local Ocean City media outlets had recently challenged the City and OCFD stating their new Fire Boat was basically a lead balloon.
Today the OCFD proved them wrong. Unfortunately the boat sank off shore while being towed in around 12th Street.

GLAD ALL ARE SAFE, THE 50' BOAT HAD 800 GALLONS OF DIESEL FUEL ON BOARD
ReplyDeleteOcean city has a legitimate need for such a fire boat. Salisbury? Not so much ....
ReplyDeleteBoat Fires should have been left to the PROS = United States Coast Guard!! They would have put foam on that fire after suppressing it long enough to get close to the boat. Ocean city need to stick to land!!!! they have no business in the ocean fighting fires they cant handle!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sank at 11 th street, it was a sight. So glad no one was hurt.
ReplyDelete4:40 Call the Coast Guard Idiot, they do not fight fire, at all! Check, and them come back and comment. I was there, OCFD put the fire out, and helped save the people.
ReplyDeleteWell Gee Mr 4:40 then why pry tell do they have a fire pump on the starboard engine of the 41ft UTB that is station at ocean city? and why is there 1 1.5 inch fire hose connection on the aft bulked under the life raft behind the cabin? and why pry tell is there a 2.5 inch water gun in the anchor locker located in the bow of the boat?
ReplyDeleteI was Stationed at O C for 8 years !!!!
